A bit about me..
I am a multi-dicsipinery designer based in New Zealand currently employed as a Digital media lecturer at Massey University. My design interests and expertise are varied, including illustration, toy design, animation to costume and product development. A common thread throughout my work is a need to sit between both digital and analogue technology and the use of character design.
After several year abroad I returned home and co-founded Marmalade Monkey a toy design consultancy based in Wellington. A leading New Zealand doll artist I focus on developing quirky creatures and toy ranges for both a New Zealand and international market. I am an Artist member of the internationally acliamed National Institute of American Doll Artists.
I was a recipient of a DOC/Creative New Zealand "wild creations" residency, which I spent at Maud Island in the Marlborough sounds developing toys and characters inspired by the behaviors of New Zealand wildlife.
I am a World of Wearable Art artist, having designed 17 garments for the show, winning numerous awards. Five of my garments are part of the World of Wearable Arts permanent collection.
I have a background in Industrial design, interaction design and illustration, and twenty years doll sculpting experience.
