The Underfoot Toy Range
At the bottom of the garden, the home tree stands on the banks of the stream. This is the magical home of the Underfoot, guardians of the forest floor, they help to keep everything in balance. Mix and Sift sing stories to the tree roots to help them find water, Wriggle is always on the hunt for a tasty meal when they are not riding the stream waves with their mate Ripple. Rolypoly lives with their extended family in the bottom of an old log alongside Tily and their family.
Wriggle is a velvet worm which is one of the most ancient creatures in the forest. They are a fierce warrior, shooting liquid silk to stun their next meal. The other creatures in the home tree have learnt to stay away when Wriggle is hungry. Wriggle is not fond of water as they are not a great swimmer.
Rolypoly is a slater and lives with their extended family in the rotten log at the bottom of home tree. Rolypoly has a very busy job to chew old leaves into pulp which Tily then takes to Mix and Sift. Rolypoly and Wriggle are good friends. Wriggle did try to eat Rolypoly, but found their scaly back not so tasty.
Ripple is a leafy creature that lives in the tree, There are many leafy’s and they all share the same thoughts. Ripple seeks adventure and they jump from the home tree to hang out with their friend Wriggle and ride the eddies within the creak.
Mix and Sift are mystical creatures and pop up out of the ground every time it rains. Tily brings them chewed leaves and other offerings that they turn into new soil for all of the plants and mosses by the home tree.
But the stream water has been rising and flooding the garden. The trees are starting to worry, something is coming that could change their way of life forever unless Wriggle and their friends can save their home and everything in it!.
The Underfoot character toys are designed to be played with outside in the dirt and undergrowth within the garden. Together they make an ecosystem of toys, with each toy influencing the others in a larger cycle of narrative play. Play with the Underfoot toys outside enables children to engage in the magical natural world.
